NORCON Inc., General Contractor
NORCON was chartered in 1974 to provide mechanical and electrical construction services to oil and gas producers on the Alaska North Slope. Since that time, it has become a full-service industrial construction company providing a comprehensive range of project development, management and construction services to customers in oil and gas, utilities and the public sector.
In the mid-eighties, NORCON purchased some of the assets of Fischback and Moore, which enabled it to move into the electrical power distribution system construction and maintenance in both Anchorage and Fairbanks. In 2001, NORCON became involved with the agreement between the North Slope Contractors Association and BPX for work on the North Slope.
In March 2002, NORCON was awarded an Alaska Governor's Safety Award for an LTA rate of 0.0 and a recordable rate of 2.9 for 2001, a rate significantly better than the national average for the construction industry.
Environmental awareness and consideration are factored in to all NORCON work. As a critical player in the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup, we became well acquainted with the harm that resource projects can do to the environment and have developed an in-house Environmental Group to ensure that we meet or surpass all requirements.
