Rolan Ruoss, the current owner of the Company, started flying Kodiak Island in 1979, joined Sea Hawk Air in 1986, and has accumulated over 15,000 hours of Kodiak area flying in de Havilland Beaver seaplanes. Rolan operates the Company as a single-pilot service and his years of experience are recognized by our many repeat customers as an excellent reason to fly Sea Hawk Air.
Worldwide, de Havilland Beaver seaplanes are acknowledged to be the finest bush floatplanes ever built. Sea Hawk Air's Beaver has been recently refurbished, incorporating the best available modifications for saftey and bush service. Our aircraft seats up to six passengers and carries a maximum load of 1500#'s

You can imagine how surprised and happy I was to spend HOURS observing the BEARS (at least 10) at close range, walking through the beautiful landscape and even seeing a Wolf! It was one of the best experiences in my life! Jo is such a knowledgable and patient guide, explaining the intricacies of bear behavior, ecology and conservation. Your company provides a rare glimpse into the life of the bears in the wild, and it is impossible to leave with anything short of respect, appreciation and a desire to learn more about these amazing animals. The entire experience, including the sea plane ride and lunch, was phenomenal.
