ATLA Webinar: Computer Access Tools
Assistive Technology of Alaska (ATLA) connects Alaskans who have disabilities with the tools they need to learn, work, play, and participate in community life safely and independently. ATLA is the implementor of the federal Assistive Technology "Tech Act" Project and provides services and activities for Alaskans of all age. Staff work in collaboration with the Alaska Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Independent Living Centers, schools, organizations, businesses and other entities around the state to increase the awareness and knowledge of the benefits of assistive technology (AT).
ATLA goals are to improve access to and the acquisition of assistive technology for Alaskans in the areas of education, employment, community living and information technology (IT) and telecommunications. This is accomplished through many different types of activities and services.
ATLA offers the following:
Information and Assistance
Loans of AT
ATLA does not advocate for or recommend specific devices or software programs. Staff provide consumers with enough knowledge to make informed choices about different technologies that meet their needs and skills. Consumers are encouraged to tryout their selections though a short-term loan or at their local demonstration center.
