Welcome to the largest Jewish Congregation in Alaska. All visitors who wish to worship with us are welcome. Though our Congregation is very committed to Reform Judaism, people from diverse Jewish backgrounds have found our liturgy appealing. Our facilities are beautifully located in a natural setting which enhances the worship experience. Please feel welcome to attend. Transportation can usually be arranged if needed.

Welcome to Congregation Beth Sholom, our 'House of Peace' in Anchorage. We are now over 50 years old as a congregation...and we continue to grow, change, and evolve. The original meaning of 'shalom' reaches beyond the sense of 'calmness, no struggle, etc'...It does, however, resonate with the sense of 'completeness' and 'wholeness,' the sense that we can be everything that we have wanted to be, everything that we should be, everything that we can be. We have shared this vision and dream throughout our history and desire to share it with all who join us.
We are proud to welcome as members, now and always, those that are Jews by birth, by choice and those seeking conversion. We also welcome interfaith families and any committed to a life celebrated by the customs and traditions of Jewish Civilization. I, personally, am very pleased to work with a congregation that is committed to the study and teaching of all aspects of Jewish life, history, traditions and culturethat welcomes all Jews into our midst. We are a community that cares deeply for each of its members, that strives for the realization of tikkun olam (the repair of our world) within the teachings of our classes, our work within the greater Anchorage and Alaska communities and our caring and concern for each other.
Please feel welcome in your own questioning and search for Jewish meaning in your life. We hope you will join us in our journey in this world.
