Operation Christmas Child Boxes Due Soon
Boxes are due between November 14th and 22nd. The main packing day will be on the 21st. Check out EZGive at samaritanspurse.org for a label to use to find out where your box ends up. Please pack a box, or more than one, to bless a needy child overseas and to share the good news of the real meaning of Christmas with them and their family!
News of Anna and Jason Speichinger
Anna and Jason Speichinger will be attending a training and candidate week with Africa Inland Mission (AIM), November 8-13. This is a very significant step for them as they work towards joining AIM's Air program as pilot/mechanic. Please pray for them and the AIM interviewers during this coming week. They are making a major commitment in their lives and want to be guided by God, as they seek to serve him. If you have not already done so, consider signing up to receive news updates from the Speichingers. For more details call Adrian Slater at 463-3321.
For the month of October, the 2010 budget anticipated receiving $72,355 in the general offering, and our actual receipts were $84,063. Year to date (through October), the budget anticipated $627,083, and we received $608,719. Although ahead of target for the month, we still are 3% behind for the year. That is an improvement from September stay the course!
There is continued need for volunteer help on our building project; if nothing else, clean-up is needed every day. Please check the whiteboard, lower level next to the restrooms, or call Harvey at 789-7592 (Joe and Rick are out of town for the next couple of weeks) for work needing to be done.
Plan now to attend the Juneau Cooperative Church Council Advent Luncheon at St. Ann's Parish Hall on Thursday, December 16th at noon. Soups, breads, and cookies will be provided by a variety of congregations along with devotions and music.
