We encourage everyone to attend our Deaf Gospel Meeting November 13 & 14. The theme is "Eat What God Is Giving You."
Brian Baell, a deaf preacher for the Camelback Church of Christ in Arizona, will be our guest speaker (signing in ASL). He will speak twice Saturday evening beginning at 7:00 and again Sunday morning at 9:00 for Bible class and 10:00 for worship.
All sessions will be in the Deaf Chapel. A vooice interpreter will be provided for the hearing.
We set aside this time once a month after evening worship for a Welcome/Farewell Fellowship Meal. The purpose of this meal is to welcome our newcomers over the past month and to say good-by to any of our number that are leaving in the next few weeks.
Each family is asked to bring enough food for their entire family and some extra for our honored guests.
The congregation is divided into four groups for clean-up following the meal. This month is your last name begins with T-Z, please stay after for a little while and do your part to clean and put away tables & chairs and vacuum the floor. You won't have to do it again for several months

The Anchorage Church of Christ is hosting our 1st Annual Deaf Leadership Conference April 10-13, 2011. If you work with the Deaf in any leadership capacity, whether as an official "minister" or as a volunteer, we hope you will join us for this groundbreaking event. We also invite at least one elder from each congregation represented.
The conference theme is "Brotherhood: Keeping the Unity" with Ephesians 4:1-6 as the key verse. We will post the final program schedule at a later date. When it gets closer to time, we will post information on lodging.
The number of our Samoan brothers and sisters is growing. They are eager to study and learn what God's will is for each of them.
They meet at the Anchorage Church of Christ every Friday evening to study the Bible together. William Kilifi leads the class in their native Samoan language.
God is richly blessing our prison ministry as we conduct a weekly worship service at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward. There are currently five men there that have surrendered their lives to God through baptism.
Under normal circumstances our brother Jessie Killgore goes to Seward on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of every month to take God's Word to the inmates that want to hear God's message. For our five brothers who reside at Spring Creek it is an oppurtunity to worship according to the New Testament pattern and to fellowship with one another and the person who goes into their world to further teach them.
Our congregation has a very active prison ministry. Through us God influences those who are incarcerated and often times their family members. Below are the places where we teach the Gospel each week and those that dedicate so much of their time to this ministry:
Anchorage Correctional Center East, Bible study every Monday AM, Dave Olson
Parkview Center, CASA every Monday PM, Dave Olson, and worship every third Sunday evening, Dave Olson and others
Anchorage Correctional Center West, Bible study every Sunday AM, different teachers
Spring Creek Correctional Center (Seward), worship every Sunday, Jesse Killgore and others
Cordova Center, 1st Sunday PM, worship, Dave Olson and others
