Explore the breathtaking scenery of remote and wild river valleys forged by her ancient and behemoth glaciers from the comfort of our state of art, powerful and maneuverable jet boats. Our friendly and experienced Coast Guard licensed drivers will safely and precisely, navigate log strewn channels, twists, and braids of these Glacier Rivers to deliver you to your ultimate destinations, Alpine Carmen Lake and Twentymile Glacier, water level dependant or the Mighty Knik Glacier.
Each River delivers its own unique experience of Alaska’s most remote wilderness even as it is carved and shaped before your very eyes by her ancient glacial sculptors. Both trips feature 1 1/2 to 2 hours of the water.
The Twentymile River’s ultimate destination the alpine Carmen Lake features hanging glaciers, waterfalls, lush green wooded slopes, and a tint of glacial blue color. Next hang on as we navigate our way up to the Twentymile Glacier* for some awesome photos of the blue glacier and floating icebergs. *(depending on water levels.) This trip is a thrilling 1½ hours to 3 hours including transportation time from the Alyeska in Girdwood.
The Knik River’s ultimate destination is the Knik Glacier. This destination boasts a 3 to 5 mile wide glacier and 200 feet high! View massive floating icebergs and just beyond the glacier amazing snow capped mountains. Look for sheep on the steep mountain sides and listen to the ice fracture from across the lake. This trip is a scenic 4 hours including transportation time from Anchorage.
